peek a boo dress

By Me | October 22, 2012

I was heading out to Saturday night with some girlfriends so, of course, I thought it would be a great idea to attempt to whip up a dress that day. Here’s my 5-hour peek a boo dress.

McCall's 6348

McCall's 6348 Line Sheet

The fabric is wool jersey from Metro Textiles which feels divine. It’s super soft yet sturdy and stable and it really hugged every curve. Loove it. I only used about 1.5 yards of it so I still have enough left over for another garment. Win!

Yeah…that’s why I’m calling it the peek a boo dress. Scandalous.

Close up of overlay

I had to tack the overlay to make sure the gap didn’t get any larger. Otherwise, I felt it would’ve been too provocative, even for a night out. I’d love to make an office appropriate version of this dress where the gap has a lace inset instead of just being bare.
